Twice nominated in 2005 & 2006 for the Hans Koller “Best European Jazz Musician Preis“, pianist, composer & arranger Lucian Ban meets up with 2006 Grammy Nominee for “Best Alternative Album” Mat Maneri to create something spectacular. The album is due for release via ECM Recordings the this American duo is scheduled for touring in 2013:
The two
musicians have first collaborated in the award winning third stream
extravaganza Enesco Re-Imagined, a CD that appeared on many critics “Best of
2010” lists and featured a stunning group of musicians – Badal Roy, Tony
Malaby, Ralph Alessi, John Hebert, Gerald Cleaver among others - in a daring
re-imagining of the works of famed romanian violin virtuoso George Enescu.
Lucian Ban & Mat Maneri also colead "Angels of repose" - a
quartet featuring drummer Randy Peterson and bassist Drew Gress.

Jakob Bro is the leading Scandinavian guitarist of his generation.
As a sideman he already played with Paul Motian & The Electric Bebop Band , Tomasz Stanko Quintet . His is a ECM recording artis feat on Stanko's "Dark Eyes"t and is scheduled to record for ECM during 2013 with his trio feat. US bassplayer Thomas Morgan and ECM Legend Jon Christensen.

Samuel Blaser is one of the young shooting stars on the European jazzscene. As an instrumentalist/ trombone player he has already worked with a impressive line-up of jazz instrumentalists such as Paul Motian , Gerald Cleaver, Thomas Morgan, Mar Ducret etc.

About the band:
Florian Arbenz has
been doing tours, concerts and CD-productions as lead with, Kirk Lightsey, Greg
Osby, Glenn Ferris, Wolfgang Puschnig, Bennie Maupin, Matthieu Michel, Claudio
Pontiggia and others. In classical music he has worked as percussionist in
numerous concerts and festivals (Luzerner Festspiele, Basler Musik Forum,
Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival), among others with Heinz Holliger, Kent
Nagano and Paul Sacher. Further, he staged in solo concerts in Europe and South
America. In 2000 Florian Arbenz received the European Award of Culture
(supporting his engagement in jazz and classical music).
At the age of thirteen, Thomas Lähns (born in 1981 in Basle) came to Tibor Elekes as his bassstudent. In 2001 he started to study the double bass at the MusicAcademy of Basle under Wolfgang Güttler and Botond Kostyak. In 2008 he completed his concertdiploma. In jazz he has played with well-known musicians such as Greg Osby, Glenn Ferris, Dave
Liebman,Wolfgang Puschnig, Christoph Stiefel and Marcel Papaux. In classics he has worked under notable conductors such as Heinz Hollinger or Peter Eötvös and was also performing as a solist.
Michael Arbenz has been active as leader of various bands during the last couple of years. They gave concerts throughout Europe and recorded several CDs. Internationally renowned musicians such as Greg Osby, Wolfgang Puschnig, Glenn Ferris, Muneer B. Fennell, Kent Carter, Matthieu Michel and Marc Johnson joined his activities. He also gave classical concerts with Pierre Boulez, Paul Sacher, Jürg Wyttenbach, the Ensemble Contrechamps and Hans Zehnder, just to name a few.

Partikel are three London based musicians; Duncan Eagles – Tenor and Soprano Saxophone, Max Luthert – Double Bass,Eric Ford – Drums and Percussion. Released 2 albums via Whirlwind Recordings. Drawing influence from African and Latin American music combined with the style of the contemporary New York jazz scene (Marcus Strickland, David Sanchez, Miguel Zenon), Partikel produce a personal, committed and contemporary take on the saxophone trio. Nikolaj Hess is a Danish Pianist born in august 1967.Graudated from Det Rytmiske Musikkonservatorium, in 1999 at the age of 22.He was the first to get topgrade 13 for his concert performance in piano, his main subject.
